Former Playboy Playmate Dani Mathers Sentenced in Invasion of Privacy Case

Dani Mathers pleads no contest in invasion of privacy caseFormer Playmate Dani Mathers had been sentenced for body shaming an older gym goer at an LA Fitness last year. She either can serve 45 days in jail or 30 days of community service removing graffiti after body-shaming a 71-year-old woman at an LA Fitness gym last July. On top of that, Mathers was  ordered to pay the woman $60 in restitution in order to replace a backpack seen in the photo in order to help protect the women’s identity.

Mathers went to court on Wednesday to agree to a plea in her criminal invasion of privacy case. When presented with the two options of either serving jail time or community service, she chose the community service.

The victim decided to not be in court on Wednesday for the court hearing. The prosecutors said the victim was humiliated by the cruel act. “Body shaming can devastate its subject,” Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer said. “People are mocked, they’re humiliated and in ways they can never fully get back.”

Mathers’ attorney addressed the media after the hearing saying that his client is happy to put this behind her. He said, “She really apologizes from the bottom of her heart for what happened. She never thought this would come out like this. Never intended to hurt anyone.”

The 2015 Playmate of the Year was highly criticized for body-shaming the woman after secretly taking a photo of her naked in a locker room at an LA Fitness. Mathers then posted the photo to her Snapchat. She captioned the picture, “If I can’t unsee this then you can’t either”. Mathers claimed that she only meant to send the Snapchat pic to a friend but instead she accidentally sent it to all of her followers. The media caught wind of her Snapchat snafu and soon Mathers lost jobs and says she got severely bullied online.

Dugger Sisters Have Filed a Lawsuit Over Release of Police Files

Duggar sisters sue the city of SpringdaleThere has been a new update in the molestation scandal that caused the demise of TLC’s hot show 19 Kids and Counting and the implosion of the Duggar family. Jill, Jessa, Jinger, and Joy-Anne Duggar have jointly filed a lawsuit against the city of Springdale, Arkansas over the release of police records that were related to the molestation charge against their brother, Josh Duggar. The sisters are suing the police, the city, the county and In Touch magazine. In Touch was the first to blow the story wide open in 2015.

In 2015, the publication In Touch filed a Freedom of Information Act Request for the police files from a 2006 investigation into molestation allegations made against Josh Duggar. In Touch proceeded to write numerous articles about the family and the molestation allegations. The Duggar sister’s lawsuit is arguing that under Arkansas law, In Touch should have never been provided details regarding information that pertains to sexual misconduct involving children. All four sisters were minors at the time of the molestation. The sisters claim that the reason why they are suing is to protect all children who have been victims of abuse. They believe that the release of the information about the molestation further victimized them which they say was a thousand times worse.

The Duggar sisters released a statement to accompany the lawsuit that reiterated the fact they felt re-victimized by the release of the police report. The statement said, “This case is solely about protecting children who are victims of abuse. Revealing juvenile identities under these circumstances is unacceptable, and it’s against the law. The media and custodians of public records who let these children down must be held accountable. This case has vast implications for all our children. We hope that by bringing this case to the public’s attention, all children will be protected from reckless reporting.”

The police documents that were released based on the FOIA request had the names of victims and other personal information redacted. However, there was enough information in the report  so it was easy for people to figure out that the Josh Duggar’s victims were his sisters.

The city has since responded to the lawsuit and they released a statement and it said, “The claims and allegations in this lawsuit are without merit and are false, and we are confident that the Federal Court will take the time to carefully hear the facts and arguments in this matter.”

Currently, the sister’s are featured on TLC’s Counting On which does not have strong ratings that the show 19 Kids and Counting did in its heyday. There is no word yet on whether the lawsuit will be featured on the show. Although, TLC promised to keep Josh Duggar off the show, it seems like they are slowly letting him back into the spotlight.

Ahead of the season premier of ABC’s The Bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay, told reporters that she is officially engaged. The newest bachelorette couldn’t hold back her excitement when she was describing her engagement. She was obviously mum on her fiancé’s name but she did say that if she had a list of qualities she’d want in a husband, “He would check everything off – check it twice!”

Lindsay, 32, first appeared on Nick Viall’s season of “The Bachelor,” and in February, before her elimination episode was aired, she was announced as the next Bachelorette. She was given the first impression rose because of her outgoing nature. Both Viall and Lindsay shared a lot of chemistry during their time together but ultimately Viall was looking or something else. Post break-up, Lindsay was looking forward to the next chapter in her life. She said after she was eliminated, “Time heals all. Since then, I’ve been able to get back into work and be with family and friends, I’ve moved on from it. My biggest thing is, I just want Nick to be happy. If he’s found that with someone else, then that makes me happy too.” Looks like she has moved on to her very own happy ending.

Lindsay, now happily engaged says she is looking forward to reuniting with her dog, Copper, getting back to practicing law and going public with her relationship. She stated, “It’s hard when you’re so excited about something and you can’t share it with everyone,” she added, “but we make sure that we communicate with each other all the time and that’s really all you can do.”

So far there are no current wedding plans. Lindsay said that both her and her fiancé want to use time away from the cameras to get to know each other better because they plan a wedding. She said that, “I’m trying to take things one step at a time. I just want to get to know my fiance to the fullest before I even start thinking about a wedding.”

The newest season of ABC’s The Bachelorette premiers this Monday.

In an announcement that really came as no surprise, Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell have officially called off their engagement. The couple got engaged during Ben’s season of ABC’s show The Bachelor. The ex-couple confirmed to People that they have decided to go their separate ways. They released a joint statement to People saying that regardless of the failure of their relationship they remain friends.

They told People in their statement, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce our decision to go our separate ways. We feel fortunate for the time we had together, and will remain friends with much love and respect for one another. We wish nothing but the best for each other, and ask for your support and understanding at this time.”

Ben’s season was very memorable for Bachelor fans due to the fact that Ben told both Lauren and JoJo Fletcher that he loved them during the fantasy suite date episode. Never in Bachelor history has that happened before. When Lauren found out that Ben had confessed his love for both her and her competition, she struggled with Ben loving JoJo as well. She told People, “post-filming was more of an emotional roller coaster than the actual show.”

Lauren also said at the time, “I fall more in love with Ben every day and it’s hard to separate what happened long ago and my current feelings. It’s confusing. It does wear on me. It hurts,” she added. “It’s like, why did I have to go through that hurt? It’s already a few months of confusion and tears and then to have to deal with it again. It’s hard.”

Despite the rough beginning to their engagement, the couple seemed to be doing well up until their announced that they were going to put their wedding on hold last November. During their time on the reality tv series, Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After?, Ben stunned Lauren by announcing that wanted to put their wedding plans on hold. Lauren was upset but Ben assured her that ultimately he wanted to marry her. Looks like that didn’t quite pan out.

The latest report describing the chaos he caused on the set of the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie claim paint Depp to be inconsiderate and violent. His behavior caused delays in filming and caused chaos in general on the set much to the disappointment and chagrin to Disney executives and those who had been supporting Depp through these last few years.

While filming the Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales on the Gold Coast, Australia, in 2015, staff from the set reported that Depp’s ‘excessive drinking’, ‘constant lateness’ and ‘physical fights’ with then-wife Amber Heard caused mayhem on set. Multiple sources have been reporting that the actor’s agent and Pirates producer Jerry Bruckheimer fought over whose responsibility it was to make sure that Depp kept his behavior in line. These same sources claim that a staff member was allegedly tasked with watching the rented home that Depp stayed in during filming and was to alert production to his movements and when he would be coming on set.

However, Bruckheimer said Depp was under intense media scrutiny while filming and claimed that a lot of the information reported during that time about Johnny wasn’t true. One of the more disturbing stories that emerged during that time was about a fight that Depp and his then wife Amber Heard while on the phone. Heard was filming The Danish Girl and she claims that Depp cut his finger in a fit of rage when he thought that she was having an affair with Billy Bob Thornton. He then mixed his blood with blue paint and the proceeded to write on a mirror “STARRING,’ ‘Billy Bob, ‘ and ‘Easy Amber’. Bruckheimer claims that this didn’t happen and that he was pretty sure that Depp sliced his finger open because it got stuck in a car door. However, Heard had actual photos of the incident in her court papers that she filed for her domestic violence case last year.

Johnny Depp has been in a vicious downward spiral in the last few years. It is our opinion that Depp’s handlers have been helping to hide his erratic and destructive  behavior for a long time. Instead of hiding this horrible behavior, it would be in Depp’s best interest to get him into some kind of rehab. Until then, we fully expect more of this kind of behavior from Depp.
