Woody Allen Files a Lawsuit Against Amazon

Woody Allen Sues Amazon for $68 MillionWoody Allen has just filed a huge lawsuit against the major online retailer, Amazon, specifically the Amazon Studios division. He filed a $68 million lawsuit alleging that the streaming service is in breach of contract. The lawsuit states that Amazon Studios backed out of a four film deal with the director based on “a 25-year old baseless accusation.” His adopted daughter Dylan Farrow has made allegations that he was inappropriate towards her when she was young. He denies the allegations and has never been arrested or convicted of a crime. He believes that Amazon is using those allegations against him in order to back out of a four film deal.

It started when Amazon refused to release his film, “A Rainy Day in New York” he tried to inquire as to why they were refusing to stream the movie. He claims that he was given  only vague answers. The movie starring Timothée Chalamet, Elle Fanning, Selena Gomez, Jude Law, Diego Luna and Liev Schreiber is about two young people that arrive in New York to spend the weekend together and are met with bad weather and adventure.

In January of 2018, he was told by the team at Amazon that the movie would be released in early 2019. Late in June of 2018, Allen was told that the deal was terminated. Allen signed his first agreement with Amazon in 2016 for his movie “Cafe Society” and due to the success of that film, they signed a multi-movie deal shortly after that.

According to the lawsuit, the termination was due to,”supervening events, including renewed allegations against Mr. Allen, his own controversial comments, and the increasing refusal of top talent to work with or be associated with him in any way, all of which have frustrated the purpose of the Agreement.”

The suit is seeking $68 million in damages . The suit was filed in the Southern District of New York an Amazon has yet to publicly respond.

Halle Berry over the weekend posted a photo on her Instagram showing of her very toned legs and all natural beauty. The gorgeous pic reminded people how stunning Berry still is after all these years. It also gave her fans an personalized  look into her home life. Berry, 52, posted the photo on February 4th with a caption that read, “Rainy Day Mood”. The photo showed Berry relaxing on her bed during a rainy day, showing off her famous legs all while reading a book. her absolutely adorable pooch, Jackson was also featured in the snap. She gave us some serious jealousy vibes with her stunning figure, hair and  glowing skin.

The photo came a few weeks after the trailer for the much anticipated movie, John Wick 3-Parabellum, dropped. The internet exploded with excitement after reviewing the trailer. Her character in the film, Sophia, joins forces with Keanu Reeve’s character to help him fight his way out of New York City in this neo-noir action thriller. She plays a fellow assassin, who kicks ass alongside Reeves to help him escape the bounty on his head. Both actors haven’t aged a day and even in the trailer the chemistry between the two is undeniable. The film is set to open in theaters world wide on May 17th 2019 right before Memorial Day Weekend and fans can’t wait.

The first Joh Wick movie opened with little fanfare but became an instant hit. The movie was met with positive reviews from critics who praised it to be one of Reeve’s best performances and one of the best action films of 2014. There has been a lot of hype around the sequels, with this latest one being the most anticipated yet. The additional of Berry has only heightened fans interest in the movie.

Halle Berry, long time client of Vincent Cirrincione,  got her first break in the movie Boomerang, also starring Eddie Murphy. She continues to be one of the highest paid actresses in this entertainment industry. Berry won the 2002 Oscar for Best Actress for her role in the critically acclaimed romantic Drama Monster’s Ball. She is considered one of the most beautiful women in the world and this Instagram post proves that she  still holds that title.

The Sexist Double Standard of Serena Williams’ Penalty

Serena Williams is a force to be reckoned with. The tennis phenom has been breaking records and taking the tennis world by force. Her name has filled newspaper headlines for years but this time the headlines are maligning her most recent actions. Actions that led to a $17,000 fine from her most recent loss at the U.S. Open. Her actions were described as a “temper tantrum”and “a meltdown”. She was mocked and taunted in the media. But was she talked about in these terms because she actually deserved it or was it because she was a woman?

The women’s final ended in with a emotional ending for both Williams and her opponent, Naomi Osaka. Williams got into a dispute with the umpire over scoring penalties. She received a verbal warning about receiving coaching on the sidelines. William challenged that call. She then broke her racket in frustration over losing a gamed she was penalized another point. Williams called him a “thief” and she was penalized an entire game for verbal abuse.

Both during and after the match, Williams called out the umpire’s behavior as a double standard. She pointed out men tennis players have been allowed to get away with behavior far worse than what she displayed during her match and she has had people come to her defense to back up her opinion. People like tennis legend Billie Jean King, have come come to Williams defense. She articulated that she firmly believed that if Williams was a man, she would not have been penalized. She had this to say,

“[F]or [Williams], and for many other women who have experienced an abuse of power at their workplaces, there was more at stake.

Did Ramos treat Williams differently than male players have been treated? I think he did. Women are treated differently in most arenas of life. This is especially true for women of color. And what played out on the court yesterday happens far too often. It happens in sports, in the office and in public service. Ultimately, a woman was penalized for standing up for herself. A woman faced down sexism, and the match went on.”

But the humiliation of Williams didn’t stop with her being described as a temper tantrum toddler in the media, the ultimate insult was when an Australian newspaper printed a cartoon of Williams as a racist trope designed to undercut her as a woman, an athlete and an African American. A recent Vox article by Michelle Garcia, pointed out the Williams has been a constant target of these types of attacks. The article states that the, “cartoon is a literal illustration of the way society is quick to degrade women — and black women in particular — when they don’t fall in line with the ways women are “supposed” to act. Not only is Williams depicted as a petulant toddler for having spoken up about what she felt was a sexist call, but also as a hulking, animal-like brute.”

What Serena William’s has experienced is downright wrong. There are many examples of men, like John McEnroe, throwing epic temper tantrums and not getting penalized. The hypocrisy is rampant and unfortunately Williams has been the target over and over again.

Regardless of her deserving or not deserving the penalties, the media depiction and portrayal of Williams has been disgusting. These consistent sexist and racist attacks are becoming tiresome and frankly embarrassing. It’s time to move on. Serena William is and will continue to be an amazing athlete. It’s time to treat her that way.

Elon Musk and Grimes, The New Celeb Couple We Can’t Help but to Love

Elon Musk and Grimes new relationship Elon Musk and Grimes are Hollywood’s newest topic of conversation. We are pro Grimes and Musk, so why all the hate on social media regarding the new lovebirds? There was backlash from Grimes fans when she came to Elon’s defense regarding Tesla Factory working conditions. Politics aside, Grimes and Elon should be able to enjoy their budding relationship without the social world crashing their party. The two seem happy in their nerdy love bubble, and for once, Elon has branched out of his regular dating patterns to be with someone who could make him happy.

Post like this have been appearing on social media that leave us boggled. Why can’t these two just be happy in love? Also, why so much hate directed at Grimes? There seems to be a lot of people claiming that Grimes music is dead to them but why can’t they see the other side to this? Grimes could be an amazing influence on Elon Musk and she could potentially provide insight that he would otherwise not have access to. We also think it is pretty anti-feminist to be putting down another female for the decisions she makes with her life and her body.

Not everyone is hating on this couple. There are a lot of people in support of this new pairing.

Some people are making some jokes about the relationship that are all in good fun. And some people are pointing out that Grimes shouldn’t be overlooked in this relationship.

The tech billionaire and music star made their initial connection on Twitter. Musk wanted to tweet a joke about Artificial intelligence and searched to see if anyone else had already made it. And as fate would have it, Grimes had beat him to the punch line; she had already tweeted about it. Musk reached out to her about the joke, and she claimed it was the first time someone had understood it in three years. So, the relationship blossomed from technology, how fitting. They were first seen together at the annual Met Gala. Musk cosplayed as James Bond, and Grimes went with a more gothic look. Musk and Grimes designed her outfit together.

Both Grimes and Musk are very hands-on and passionate about their lines of work. It’s no secret that Musk is a workaholic and has a heavy hand in decisions impacting his company. Grimes approaches her work with a similar line of thought. She prides herself in producing her own music. “I don’t want to be just the face of this thing I built, I want to be the person who built it.” She also creates her own cover art. Both are go-getters with entrepreneurial hearts.

Musk has had a bumpy road with lovers past, but Grimes seems like a suitable match for this tech genius. Equal parts punk rocker, entrepreneur, and a self-starter, Grimes is a different type of woman that compliments Musk. After his most recent breakup with actress Amber Heard, he said, “I’m looking for a long-term relationship. I’m not looking for a one-night stand. I’m looking for a serious companion or soulmate.” Musk is looking for someone with depth and dependability. With shared interests, a shared sense of humor, and both following the beat of their own drum, we are hoping that Grimes and Musk can make one another happy in their own unique way. Moses Farrow’s Open Letter Defending Woody Allen, Prompts Director, Screenwriter Robert Weide to Offer Donation if Ronan Farrow can Provide Evidence

Moses Farrow defends his father Woody AllenMoses Farrow, Woody Allen’s adopted son, has come to his father’s side defending him in the wake of resurfaced allegations made by his adoptive daughter, Dylan Farrow. Twenty years ago, Woody Allen was accused of sexually assaulting Dylan O’Sullivan Farrow. Moses Farrow has now come forward saying that these claims are false. In an recent open letter, Moses Farrow makes it clear that their mother, Mia Farrow was a manipulative and abusive mother who could greatly influence her children.

The latest twist in this family drama is that the Robert Weide, an American screenwriter, producer, and director who was also the screenwriter and director of the 2011 PBS film Woody Allen: A Documentary, tweeted out a request to Ronan Farrow for evidence to prove his claims that Allen abused Dylan O’Sullivan. Both children have claimed that they have factual evidence to back up their claims. Weide has requested it for years, even offering a 35K contribution to a charity of their choice if they provide their evidence. He has now upped the donation amount to 100k. Weide has always been a very outspoken Woody Allen supporter.

In the open letter Moses Farrow shed light on a different kind of Mia Farrow, one that was never shown to the public. The post, titled “A Son Speaks Out,” explains why Moses Farrow felt inclined to write about the situation. “I’m a very private person and not at all interested in public attention,” he begins his statement. “But, given the incredibly inaccurate and misleading attacks on my father, Woody Allen, I feel that I can no longer stay silent as he continues to be condemned for a crime he did not commit.”

Moses shed a new light on his mother. “It pains me to recall instances in which I witnessed siblings, some blind or physically disabled, dragged down a flight of stairs to be thrown into a bedroom or a closet, then having the door locked from the outside,” Moses Farrow said. “She even shut my brother Thaddeus, paraplegic from polio, in an outdoor shed overnight as punishment for a minor transgression.”

Moses Farrow has brought a voice to this family drama that has never been heard before. On the day of the alleged allegations, the children were being supervised by two nannies and a French tutor.  Moses calls out errors in Dylan’s version of events, saying that the trainset she claimed to watch did not exist, especially in their attic which was not a kid-friendly environment. And with a custody battle going on, it would be a very odd time for Woody Allen to choose to assault his daughter, especially in a house full of adults. Investigators of the case found that Dylan’s claims seemed rehearsed and practiced. Moses says that he had seen his mother coach and influence him and his siblings in different circumstances, and it’s not far-fetched that she could do the same to Dylan. Moses does not make his sister out to be a liar but instead focuses on his mother’s behavior towards her children. While no one will ever know what happened for sure on that day, Moses could no longer keep his version of the truth to himself.

Weide has written extensively in the past about his thoughts and feelings on the matter. He wrote a Daily Beast article in 2014 that defended Allen, saying that laid out fact by fact his findings during the time he worked on the Woody Allen documentary. His article does not vilify Mia Farrow but simply states that from his point view, based on facts, the allegations against Woody Allen are not true. He even praises Mia for her political activism. The article is pretty well thought out and provides a lot of food for thought about the allegations.

So far, there has been no response from the Farrow family to this offer. It will be interesting to see whether they will provide the evidence that they say that they have.
