And the Winner of the Final Rose is…..

in Shows by

nick-viall-engaged-vanessa-after-the-final-rose-recapMonday night wrapped up the final episode of the latest painful season of The Bachelor and a winner (don’t know if that is the right word for it) was chosen. And it was the Canadian special education teacher, Vanessa Grimaldi, who won the heart of Nick Viall. The fourth time is the charm because this Bachelor franchise alum finally found the love of his life. The universally panned season finally came to an end and the fans who stuck around to the watch the Final Rose were not convinced that this couple is headed for a happily ever after.

The episode started with Nick sitting down with his family to discuss the last remaining ladies. Mary, his poor mother, starts to get very emotional and begins to cry. We can only assume that she is hoping that Nick will just find someone already and her reality t.v. nightmare can come to an end. After asking him if he had a favorite, (which the answer was no), Nick’s dad summed the experience up pretty perfectly. “Going through this whole process as parents was, at times, excruciating,” says Nick’s dad, bluntly.

Raven is up first to spend time with the family. She had already met them earlier on in the season on a one on one date. The family seemed to like Raven and Nick’s little sister seems to like her the most. Bella, the little sister, asks Raven if she loves Nick and Raven says yes. Bella then states that she hopes that Nick picks Raven. It’s now Mary’s turn and it could not be more obvious that Mary is just over it. The effort she is making however to play along is an Oscar worthy performance.

Vanessa is next and it’s pretty apparent that Nick’s family appears subdued. During dinner, Vanessa recounts the first one on one date where she threw up everywhere and she starts to get emotional. She starts talking about how she has been searching for someone like Nick. She begins to trail off and Nick’s family sits around awkwardly. Thankfully Bella jumps in and rescues Vanessa and scolds Nick for not finishing the story for Vanessa. For someone who has been through this process numerous times, Nick seems completely clueless when it comes to the awkwardness of meeting the family. Both of Nick’s parents have a talk with Vanessa and she asks a ton of questions. Vanessa just wants reassurance that Nick will pick her but Nick’s parents can’t really seem to give her an answer that she is satisfied with. Mary cries again and then Nick heads off to the final dates with each of the ladies.

The first date was with Vanessa to meet Santa Clause because apparently the city of Rovaniemi, Finland, is the hometown of Santa Clause. They take a horseback ride through the woods and of course, Vanessa has more questions about their future. They end up meeting Santa and he asks what they want for Christmas. They both answer love, but instead he gives them a interesting wall hanging with a painting of the two of them along with symbols for happiness and fertility. Nick and Vanessa then continue with date and Vanessa continues with more questions. She pretty much wants an answer now that Nick will pick her.  “I kind of feel like every time I ask you a question, it’s very general — the answer’s very general,” she says like she was unaware that she is on a reality t.v. show with other women to compete for the love of one man. Nick’s annoyance is pretty apparent and says that he will only propose if he feels a love that he has never felt before. When Vanessa asks him if he is ready to propose, he drops the bomb “The week’s not over.” Ugh that was a gut punch. Vanessa cries as Nick attempts to console her half-heartedly.

Well Raven is up next and after watching the excruciating question and barely any answers date with Nick and Vanessa, fans were in desperate need of some lighthearted fun. Raven, during this whole process, has always been pretty laid back. Nick and Raven go ice skating and do seem to have more fun together. After ice skating and a little make out sesh, they head back inside to talk about the future of their relationship. Nick tells Raven he is stressed about the situation but Raven seems unfazed by this. She reassures Nick and lets him know that she is ready to get engaged to him.

Then he meets with Neil Lane to pick out a ring, again. Then it’s off to the ring ceremony and Raven is the first out of the limo. Nick gets to the point pretty quickly but then keep rambling on after he has dumped her. Nick then mumbles through his tears and says “I’m gonna miss you.” Raven’s response is epic, she simply says “I know.” Good for you, Raven. Then Vanessa comes and walks up to Nick and doesn’t say anything. She just stares at him waiting for him to say something. Nick tells Vanessa he’s been falling in love with her since the second rose ceremony and tells her “I don’t want to fight it anymore, because I do love you. I’m in love with you”. She then says “Walking out of the limo, and seeing you for the first time, I knew there was something special and different about you. I thought, ‘There’s no way he’s going to notice me. Instead, you’ve noticed every part of me.” Nick proposes and Vanessa gets the ring and the final rose and then a ride in a horse-drawn carriage into their happily ever after.

Fans however are not convinced after watching the “After the Rose” special that this couple is even happy together. When the couple was finally reunited, there seemed to be tension between the two. Chris Harrison bombards the couple with questions about their relationship and it’s clear that neither of them really have discussed the logistics of their relationship. Vanessa during the hometowns insisted that she would never leave Canada and that he had to see her family at least once a week. Nick, wants to move to LA to pursue a career. When asked where they will live, Nick said that they are “leaning toward the good old U.S. of A.” Nick will be appearing next on “Dancing with the Stars” and this will be the true test of their relationship.

Fans took to social media to express their doubts that the couple was even happy. The seemed tense during the show and didn’t even really seem happy to be there. We are giving this couple at least 4 more months.

The Bachelor “The Women Tell All” Recap

in Shows by

As Nick Viall wraps up this third quest for love, the Women Tell All episode aired this week and we were not disappointed. Especially after the pretty uneventful fantasy suite episodes (except for Raven’s “I just had sex” romp through Finland”, there were many memorable moments during the show. Nick’s group of rejects got together and bared their souls about their quest for the love of one man. Due to all the dramatics, the episode was actually 2 hours long instead of the usual hour long run time. But to be real, this was the Corinne show and once again, she stole the show and made it a cheesy pasta extravaganza.

Before the Corrine show could get started, the ever-host of the Bachelor franchise, Chris Harrison, introduced the previous Nick love interests. As the girls were introduced, it became painfully obvious that half the girls the audience couldn’t remember and to be fair our office couldn’t remember half of the girls as well. Like who is Lacey? She talked a lot but no one could remember any interaction she had with Nick.

After the audience settled down, Liz was the first one to be called to the proverbial hot seat. This girl got raked through the coals for her one night stand with Nick at Jade and Tanner’s wedding. Interestedly enough, Nick was never shamed for the fact that he was also part of that one night stand. It was made out to seem that she went on the show for fame versus being there for Nick. When asked why she didn’t contact him before the show, she said that, “I was in a place in my life that I really, really cared about somebody else, you know, and I needed that period to heal,” she said. By the time she was ready to contact Nick again, he was already gearing up to be the Bachelor. But she said that she felt good about her time and the Bachelor and she was able to walk away knowing that her and Nick just didn’t have a spark. Liz ended up getting a standing ovation from the rest of the girls and the crowd.

Next came Taylor. Taylor, a mental health specialist from Seattle, who is best known for “emotional intelligence” fight with Corinne. There was a lot of contention between the two and it all played out during the Women Tell All episode. Taylor started by saying that in the beginning she was giddy and excited about her potential relationship with Nick. However, once she started to get involved with the drama with Corinne, it all went down hill. Taylor tried to explain her goal in that conversation. Instead of getting people to rally behind her, she seemed to really lose the crowd. She said that Corinne ruined her professional career and that she deserves an apology from Corinne. Jasmine also jumped in to say that Taylor never even got to know Corinne and that Taylor walked around the house with her nose stuck up in the air. Turns out, Taylor was not popular amongst the other girls and it became even more apparent when no one would really come to her defense. A few of the girls tried to jump in but it also fell flat.

Next up was Corinne who then took the show by storm. It is unusual that the typical Bachelor villain ends up being a fan favorite. Even Chris Harrison stated that he enjoyed Corinne and her antics on the show. Corinne got up there and took no prisoners and even though she was blasted for her promiscuous behavior, she gave no apologies. She basically took the stance of “Don’t hate the player, hate the game”. She was out to get Nick’s attention and she did that by any means necessary. The conversation then turned to her nap situation which caused the girls to erupt into a screaming match over how inappropriate it is to nap. Once again, Corinne could care less about what people think about her nap game. Chris Harrison then sort of gets Corinne and Taylor to bury the hatchet. When Chris Harrison asked about Raquel, the nanny, Corinne told a pretty touching story about how Raquel supported her through her mom’s ovarian cancer. Then the audience was treated to Raquel’s famous “cheesy pasta“. The camera zoomed in on Taylor’s face and she had a disgusted look on her face while holding the cheesy pasta.

Next up was Kristina, the Russian angel who’s story brought everyone to tears. They replay the emotional moment when she tells Nick and her time in the Russian orphanage and the time she had to eat lipstick because they had no food, (I’m not crying, you are crying). She then speaks about the walls she had to put up and how hard it was to open up to Nick (You didn’t deserve her Nick, she is too damn good for this show).

Then Nick comes out onto the stage and it’s a pretty anticlimax. The only interesting part that happens is when Lacey (who?) asks if Nick friend zoned her. She wanted to know why Nick talked about other girls to her, and then told him that he shouldn’t talk about potential girlfriends with other potential girlfriends (Did she not know she was on The Bachelor?) The best part of Nick’s whole interview was when he told Alexis that his mom wanted to meet her. Who doesn’t want to meet Alexis the aspiring dolphin trainer?

Rachel the new bachelorette was introduced and she told a standing ovation from the rest of the girls. When asked what kind of man she is looking for, she said she wanted some who was ready to settle down, get married and have kids. Chris Harrison asked about her thoughts about being the first African American Bachelorette and she said, ”  don’t want that to be the focus of my journey, but I’m happy to acknowledge it and I’m happy to be the person to be able to do this, and I’m humbled by the experience, so I’m excited for that.” Well Rachel we can’t wait to see you in May!

Nick Viall, the New Bachelor, Talks Regrets in his Latest Interview

in Shows by

nick-viall-zoom-7c01829b-7259-48a2-bd8b-5a89a6cf4d94

Ugh this guy again. Nick Viall has completed some kind of record being on three seasons of the Bachelor franchise as a competitor and is now going to grace the reality TV world with his latest stint as the Bachelor. He appeared on both Andi and Kaitlyn’s seasons the of Bachelorette and he appeared on the latest season of Bachelor in Paradise. He managed to strike out all three times due to the fact he is as likable as slamming your finger in a car door repeatedly.

In the latest PR image clean up, Nick goes on to talk about the regret he has for telling Bachelor Nation during the Final Rose special that he and Andi, and I quote, “Made love” (gross coming out of his mouth) during their fantasy suite date. He now regrets talking about what I am sure is one of Andi’s top ten regrettable moments in her life, for Andi’s sake. He said, “I regret that in the sense that it unnecessarily and unfairly caused Andi to get a lot of flack.”

He also goes on to complain that after sleeping with both Andi and Kaitlyn, he is unfairly portrayed as a man whore. Excuse us while we go cry ugly tears into our merlot for the man to made it his duty to try to slut shame Andi on national tv. Honestly, we are finally happy that a male contestant on this show is being shamed for being promiscuous because usually it is the female contestants that get shamed for this kind of behavior.

Regardless of our own personal feelings about Nick, we will definitely be watching and updating our readers about the latest in Bachelor gossip!
