Track Palin Arrested Again for the Third Time in Three Years on Domestic Violence Charges

in Scandals by

Track Palin, to the surprise of no one, has been arrested again on charges of domestic violence. This is the third time in three years that he has been arrested for the exact same charges. Track Palin, the oldest son of ex-VP hopeful Sarah Palin, was arrested last Friday around 11:30pm. Track Palin has a history of violent outbursts so this latest came as no surprise.

Alaska State Troopers responded to a home in Wasilla last Friday after there was a report of a disturbance at the residence. When the investigators showed up at the house, they discovered that Track Palin had assaulted an unnamed female acquaintance. When she tried to call the police, it was reported that Track took the phone away so she was unable to call. When he was placed under arrest, he resisted arrest. According to the report, he was charged with fourth-degree assault, interfering with the report of a domestic violence crime, resisting arrest by force and disorderly conduct.

It was reported earlier that the incident involved the mother of his child, Jordan Loewe. He allegedly hit Loewe on her neck and head. Court records show that on Monday, she filed for a a request for a short-term protective order against Track. She was granted the protective order on Tuesday. She also filed a petition for a long-term protective order, which would last longer than 30 days and a hearing for the long-term order was scheduled for later this month.

It has been less than a year since his last arrest for domestic violence. Last December, he was arrested for attacking his father. His mother Sarah called the police and told them that she believed her son had taken some kind of medication and was freaking out. When police arrived during this incident, they found Track walking erratically around and his father was bleeding from his head. Last June, he accepted a plea deal. He plead guilty to one charge of criminal trespassing in exchange for the charges of criminal mischief and assault to be dropped. He also agreed to enroll in a therapy program which required him to undergo drug and alcohol testing.

His first arrest was in January of 2016. The police came to his parent’s Wasilla home and found him “uncooperative, belligerent and evasive,” and his girlfriend was hiding and crying underneath a bed.

He was released yesterday and must were an electronic monitoring bracelet for the time being. This is also not the first time that Loewe has filed a protection order against Track. She received one in 2016 when Track allegedly attacked her while drunk. Loewe isn’t the only ex that has filed a restraining order against Track. His ex-wife was granted a temporary restraining order in December of 2017.

Soon-Yi Previn Breaks Her Silence on her Marriage, Her Husband and the Allegations

in Scandals by

Woody Allen’s wife, Soon-Yi Previn has finally broken her silence in an in-depth interview with New York Magazine. She opened up about  the allegations, her marriage, her relationship with her adoptive mother and how much she disliked being painted as victim. She remained relatively quiet about the allegations until now. She has spoken out before about how she was characterized as a “slow” and “dim”  adult who was taken advantage of Woody Allen but now she has decided to show more of her story, especially her own experiences with her adoptive mother Mia Farrow.

The interview, written by Daphne Merkin, was not intended to smear her adoptive mother, but Soon-Yi felt like it was time to break her silence because of how hurt she has been by the allegations leveled against her husband by her adoptive sister Dylan O’Sullivan Farrow. In the wake of the Me Too movement, these allegations have gained new momentum and Soon-Yi felt like she could no longer remain quiet.

Soon-Yi insists that her granting this interview had nothing to do with her trying to get back at her adoptive mother but that, “what’s happened to Woody is so upsetting, so unjust. [Mia] has taken advantage of the #MeToo movement and paraded Dylan as a victim. And a whole new generation is hearing about it when they shouldn’t.”

The article also reveals details about the couple’s townhouse and their discussion over lunch about how Soon-Yi was painted as a “retard” after the affair came to light. Allen joined the interview for lunch and said that, “People think that I was Soon-Yi’s father, that I raped and married my underaged, retarded daughter.” He said that couldn’t be farther from the truth. According to the article, Mia Farrow’s point of view about the affair and everything that followed has been well distributed in the media. Also, Ronan and Dylan Farrow have been very vocal about allegations against her husband but Soon-Yi stayed silent for decades.

Soon-Yi details her relationship with her mother growing up and how the only option she had was to be perfect. She discusses with the author about how she came to be adopted by Farrow and her life growing up in China. Even from the beginning, Farrow did not come across as sincere to Soon-Yi. At one point, Farrow after she adopted Soon-Yi demanded that she make a tape of her story about being a child of a prostitute who was beaten severely by her mother. Soon-Yi refused the request and was puzzled by this because she had no recollection of being beaten by her mother.

She claims that since the beginning her mother and her were lie “oil and water”. She says that Farrow was not maternal and Soon-Yi was still traumatized by the first time farrow gave her a bath. Soon-Yi says, “I’d never taken a bath by myself, because in the orphanage it was a big tub and we all got in it. Here, it was for a single person, and I was scared to get in the water by myself. So instead of doing what you would do with an infant — you know, maybe get into the water, put some toys in, put your arm in to show that you’re fine, it’s not dangerous — she just kind of threw me in.”

Soon-Yi also recounts when she moved to the US and her time growing up in a sporadic environment. She barely received an education and by her admission she has a learning disability that made it difficult for her to advance her education. She said, “I’ve never spoken about it, because Mia drummed it into me to be ashamed about it. It comes out in spelling, and I had to work much harder in school. But I was driven and interested, and I wish I’d had a tutor the way some kids do for homework.”

She speaks of being humiliated by her mother and slapped by Farrow when she was in trouble. Both Soon-Yi and Moses Farrow has similar recollections of being broken down emotionally by Farrow through harsh words, name calling and humiliation. When asked if she had any positive memories from her childhood, she flat out said no.

The article also delves into great detail about the beginning of the relationship between her and Allen. At first, she only knew him as the boyfriend to her mother but she stated that she did not like him. At first, he was not interested in getting to know the children but over time, Soon-Yi and Allen started talking and then spending some time together by going to Knick’s games. She talks about how their relationship started to blossom when she turned 21. She said that it was a very gradual process and that she said happened over a long period time. They spent a lot of time with each other and soon an affair started. They both discussed the potential issue it would cause with the family and they deiced to keep it a secret.

But secret always have a way of coming to light and soon it was discovered that Allen and Soon- Yi were having an affair. She acknowledges that the affair was not the moral thing to do. She refers to it as, “a huge betrayal on both our parts, a terrible thing to do, a terrible shock to inflict on her.”

Soon-Yi was kicked out and cutoff from her family. She didn’t know who to trust and recalled how scared she was of Mia during this time. Mia Farrow became increasing irrational and angry. She would call Allen to tell him that Soon-Yi was threatening to kill herself, something that Soon-Yi adamantly denies ever wanting to do.

Soon, the infamous custody case took place. It became the the featured topic in tabloids across the country. The news of the allegations against Woody Allen soon become one of the most talked about cases in the 20th century. The article also says that two of Mia’s attorneys floated the idea of a $5-7 million dollar confidentiality agreement in order to keep the allegations under wraps. The next day he sued for custody and soon, the couple went public with their relationship. The author then asks Soon-Yi if she wishes she would have done anything different with the affair and she simply answered no.

The article ends with Soon-Yi talking about their adoptive children and the fact that she is a very hands on mother. Her children are older and now her and Allen have grown closer than ever. The article ends with the author stating that, “Later, as I walk home, I find myself wondering whether Soon-Yi’s voice — having finally been heard — will be listened to, much less change anyone’s opinion. It’s a gamble she’s taken by speaking out, but then again, she’s never been one to play it safe.”

The Sexist Double Standard of Serena Williams’ Penalty

in Celebrities by

Serena Williams is a force to be reckoned with. The tennis phenom has been breaking records and taking the tennis world by force. Her name has filled newspaper headlines for years but this time the headlines are maligning her most recent actions. Actions that led to a $17,000 fine from her most recent loss at the U.S. Open. Her actions were described as a “temper tantrum”and “a meltdown”. She was mocked and taunted in the media. But was she talked about in these terms because she actually deserved it or was it because she was a woman?

The women’s final ended in with a emotional ending for both Williams and her opponent, Naomi Osaka. Williams got into a dispute with the umpire over scoring penalties. She received a verbal warning about receiving coaching on the sidelines. William challenged that call. She then broke her racket in frustration over losing a gamed she was penalized another point. Williams called him a “thief” and she was penalized an entire game for verbal abuse.

Both during and after the match, Williams called out the umpire’s behavior as a double standard. She pointed out men tennis players have been allowed to get away with behavior far worse than what she displayed during her match and she has had people come to her defense to back up her opinion. People like tennis legend Billie Jean King, have come come to Williams defense. She articulated that she firmly believed that if Williams was a man, she would not have been penalized. She had this to say,

“[F]or [Williams], and for many other women who have experienced an abuse of power at their workplaces, there was more at stake.

Did Ramos treat Williams differently than male players have been treated? I think he did. Women are treated differently in most arenas of life. This is especially true for women of color. And what played out on the court yesterday happens far too often. It happens in sports, in the office and in public service. Ultimately, a woman was penalized for standing up for herself. A woman faced down sexism, and the match went on.”

But the humiliation of Williams didn’t stop with her being described as a temper tantrum toddler in the media, the ultimate insult was when an Australian newspaper printed a cartoon of Williams as a racist trope designed to undercut her as a woman, an athlete and an African American. A recent Vox article by Michelle Garcia, pointed out the Williams has been a constant target of these types of attacks. The article states that the, “cartoon is a literal illustration of the way society is quick to degrade women — and black women in particular — when they don’t fall in line with the ways women are “supposed” to act. Not only is Williams depicted as a petulant toddler for having spoken up about what she felt was a sexist call, but also as a hulking, animal-like brute.”

What Serena William’s has experienced is downright wrong. There are many examples of men, like John McEnroe, throwing epic temper tantrums and not getting penalized. The hypocrisy is rampant and unfortunately Williams has been the target over and over again.

Regardless of her deserving or not deserving the penalties, the media depiction and portrayal of Williams has been disgusting. These consistent sexist and racist attacks are becoming tiresome and frankly embarrassing. It’s time to move on. Serena William is and will continue to be an amazing athlete. It’s time to treat her that way.

in Shows by

After a lot of spoilers and lot of speculation, Becca Kufrin has finally made her choice for her future husband. She picked the 29 year old Medical Sales rep, Garrett Yrigoyen, from Reno Nevada and she sent home Blake Horstmann. In the dramatical finale, aired last night, showed the difficult choice Becca had to make between the two men. Most people were rooting for Blake based on the fact the Garrett had some very problematic issues with his social media. Also, throughout the whole season there was a very obvious and strong connection between Becca and Blake. While she appeared to have a good time with Garrett, Blake seemed more well-rounded and also was very open with his feelings. Since their first one on one date, fans thought that Blake was the obvious choice.

But it was not meant to be, after giving his full speech, Blake was sent home to nurse his broken heart. Although, there had been rumors that Garrett was going to be the last one standing, people held out hope for Blake. After fans learned of Garrett’s problematic social media use after the first episode, they were quick to condemn him but as the season wore on, he managed to win over some people with his simple and seemingly sweet disposition. Some fans were able to forgive his transphobic, homophobic and racist likes on certain defamatory Instagram posts but others not so much. During the finale, many took to social media expressed their frustration that Becca picked someone that had liked and supported all those hateful Instagram posts. Early on in the season, Garrett issued a public apology that stated the following:

The Bachelorette's Finalist, Garrett Yrigoyen, Instagram apology

During the After the Rose Special, host Chris Harrison addressed the controversy. When asked about those likes, Garrett said, “I didn’t realize the effect of a double tap or a ‘like’ on Instagram,” Garrett explained. “I didn’t mean to hurt anybody’s feelings . . . I stand by everything I said in my apology. I’m trying to grow on a daily basis.”

Becca has asked fans early on to be open-minded about Garrett. Becca told Entertainment Tonight, “I want them to go through this season with me and watch my love story unfold with all of these men. I did things in the past that I’m sure [weren’t] the best [things], but I just want people to stay open-minded to everyone.”

During the finale, she said that although she doesn’t agree with his past Instagram usage, she believes that he has learned from the situation. She told Chris Harrison, “The Instagram situation, I don’t condone that and I know that he stands by his apology and he feels so bad for everyone that he did offend. He didn’t mean it. But I just want to move forward, to learn and to grow and continue to educate ourselves.”

Fans of the franchise were not pleased with outcome. Multiple people took to Twitter to express their outrage that Becca picked Garrett over Blake.

There has been no wedding date set yet but the couple appears to be full steam ahead despite the lack of support from Bachelor/Bachelorette Nation. Normally, we would say congrats but we aren’t Garrett fans either and honestly, we believe that this relationship is not going last.

She was released only days ago from an involuntary psychiatric hold and she is currently being held on $20,000 bail.
