Whether you love her or hate her, the woman knows how to sell a product. After a lot of teasers on Instagram, Kim Kardashian West finally released her perfume. Her latest perfume launch netted $10 million in exactly 24 hours. The most interesting part of the perfume release was the newest perfume was only available online. Customers never even had the chance to smell the perfume before purchasing it and they bought it anyway. It has been rumored that the scents are set to sell out by Thursday night.

The reality tv star had three fragrances for sale because she could’t just pick one that she liked. The base of the fragrances is Gardenia which Kim considers her signature scent. The three scents, Crystal Gardenia, Crystal Gardenia Oud and Crystal Gardenia Citrus are all packaged in translucent, crystal-shaped bottles that only lay flat on the surface. All three feature a combination of rose and gardenia but each scent is geared towards a specific part of the world. Crystal Gardenia Citrus is inspired by the Asian market and contains hints of orange, lemon and pomelo and the Crystal Gardenia Oud scent is inspired by the Middle East in mind and contains hints of bergamot, lavender and musk. Only 300,000 bottles were made so this will be a limited run. Once they are gone, they are gone.

Kim Kardashian got the inspiration for the scents and the packaging from her Paris robbery incident of all places. She said that after that horrible experience, she focused on creating a calming and healing environment for herself. After the robbery, friends brought over healing crystals that Kim claims helped her through the difficult time. She channeled that energy into creating a a new line of perfumes. She told People that, “I really loved the idea of being so pure and taking that time to do what makes you happy and heal from everything you have going on in this crazy, chaotic life. I just wanted to create fragrances that made me feel happy and calm.”

So far the reviews have been all over the map. Elle.com editors mostly panned the fragrance describing it as “potpourri mixed with weird brand-less gummy candies”, “It smells like the mall”,and “Seventh grade camp counselor”. However, reviewers at Coveteur.com gave the fragrance more rave reviews. It was described by them as “old school feminine”, “smell like a tropical vacation” and “smells fresh, professional and like a summer in the Hamptons!”.

Let us know if you have had the chance to sample the perfume, we would love to hear your thoughts!
